Cincinnati Reds pitcher Bronson Arroyo left Saturday’s game after being hit in the head by Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco on an attempt to throw out a runner.
He was checked for a concussion after the incident:
Arroyo is headed back to Reds complex, will throw more there. He was checked for a concussion and is not in the concussion protocol— C. Trent Rosecrans (@ctrent) March 18, 2017
Texas Rangers’ Drew Robinson was in the process of stealing second base during a 1-2 count when Mesoraco tried throwing him out, consequently hitting Arroyo on the left side of his jaw and neck area. Once hit, Arroyo immediately ran out to the outfield where trainers met him and assisted him to the locker room. Arroyo said he was fine in an interview shortly after the game.http://cin.ci/2nE12TA
