The Nationals Rally Back From A 9-0 Deficit

The Nationals have been on a very bad stretch lately, losing 5 in a row, and 18 out of their last 24. After getting shut out by the Red Sox on Wednesday, they had a players-only meeting. This appeared to have a very positive effect.

During Thursday’s game against the Marlings, the Nats went down 9-0 by the 4th, and things were looking bleak. Trea Turner turned things around in the bottom half of the inning with a solo shot, his first RBI of many to come in the night. They then scored 4 more times in the 5th, and 5 in the 6th, to finally take the lead.

The last 4 runs in the 5th came off this grand slam by, wait for it….. Trea Turner. This also happened to be the first grand slam of his career.

They went on to win 14-12, and in doing so, tied the franchise record for largest comeback. Turner lead the charge with 8 RBI’s which ties the record for most RBI’s by a lead-off hitter. Have a day, Trea.

Here’s a video recap of the crazy night.
