Kelly Oubre Jr. To Undergo Knee Treatments

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

Washington Wizards small forward Kelly Oubre Jr. will undergo platelet-rich treatments in his right knee. These treatments will keep him from off-season workouts for two weeks before he can resume normal basketball activities.

Oubre gained national notoriety for his “Battle of the Kelly’s” scuffle with Celtics big man Kelly Olynyk. After being suspended for Game 4 of the series, Oubre had an MRI on his knee and played less than seven minutes in the final two game of Washington’s season.

In his first trip to the playoffs, Oubre played 15.3 minutes per game, averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds. He scored in double figures four times in the playoffs, three of which occurred in the Boston series.

Hopefully Oubre will be able to capitalize on his imporved scoring late in the season and carry it in to next year.
