Gerald Green will start for the Boston Celtics, over Amir Johnson, in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to Chris Forsberg of ESPN.
The Celtics looked lethargic for much of Game 1, as the Cavs breezed to a 117-104 victory on Wednesday. Though it wasn’t enough, Green provided a spark of energy off the bench, shooting 3-of-5 from the field for 11 points in 13 minutes.
This won’t be the first time head coach Brad Stevens has turned to Green as a starter. When the Celtics were down 0-2 in their first playoff series against the Chicago Bulls, Green was placed in the starting lineup and helped the Celtics win four straight games.
The team will hope that Green can get the ball rolling once again, and help Boston reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010.
