LeBron James is like the cool girl in high school that just broke up with her boyfriend. By the time James officially becomes a free agent, everyone will have a plan of how to get him. Ok, I don’t know a lot about the cool girl in high school that everyone wanted to date because I was not her, but I can tell you right now that fans are obsessed with where James will end up.
Rumors are going around about a lot of options, from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Los Angeles Lakers. But there’s a better option we’ve all been sleeping on, and Pittsburgh Steelers’ Juju Smith-Schuster won’t rest until we recognize and stand behind it. He calls for LeBron James to take a little break from the NBA, and give the Steelers a try.
Announcing my official campaign to recruit @KingJames to the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2018 season. LeBron has done everything in the NBA. He can be the best athlete EVER if he makes the move to the NFL and wins a Super Bowl with Steeler Nation… #LeBronToPittsburgh pic.twitter.com/5VLcjIPpSO— JuJu Smith-Schuster (@TeamJuJu) March 6, 2018
Smith-Schuster feels like James has been-there, done-that in the world of professional basketball, and it’s time for him to take his glory even further by adding a Super Bowl victory. James could follow a few other athletes who have famously switched sports, like former Kansas City Chiefs’ defensive back Sanders Commings, who went from the NFL to a minor-league deal with the Atlanta Braves, and of course, Tim Tebow. It would certainly be interesting.
Like any newly single person, in sports or romance, James will have big decisions to make in his free agency. Everyone will be keeping an eye on him, hoping that he’ll give them some consideration. That’s a lot of power to have. Hopefully he’s seen Smith-Schuster’s campaign and given it some thought. If I were James, though, I’d enjoy the proposals for awhile.
