Premier free agent center DeMarcus Cousins has agreed to a one year deal worth $5.3 million with the Golden State Warriors. Cousins, who was set to be a 2018 NBA All-Star starter before tearing his Achilles in January, will join a Warriors starting lineup that already features 4 All-Stars.
Cousins, who turns 28 in August, played 48 games for the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2017-18 season. He averaged 25.2 PPG, 12.9 REB, 5.4 AST in those 48 games prior to the injury.
Cousins underwent surgery to repair his torn Achilles in late January and was initially expected to remain sidelined until sometime in December or January of the upcoming season. However, Cousins has said that he is aiming to make a return by training camp.
