It was announced today that sophomore guard Jalen Brunson will be returning to Villanova for his junior season. The 6‘3” guard from Lincolnshire, IL will look to lead the Wildcats back to the promise land.
This past season Villanova had a great season, as they finished the regular season with a record of 32-4, which was good enough for first place in the Big-East. The Wildcats were the number one seed overall for the tournament. Their tournament run ended early as they lost in the second round after a loss to eight seeded Wisconsin.
Brunson had an improved season to his freshman year, as in his first season at Villanova he put up 9.6 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.8 rebounds this game. The sophomore campaign was a good one for Brunson as he averaged 14.7 points, 4.1 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game while shooting 54.1% from the field.
