About a month ago, Jo-Lonn Dunbar was involved in a fight with NBA forward Donte Greene. The two men were reportedly outside of Dream Nightclub, according to Miami Beach Police Detective Vivian Thayer. At the time both Dunbar and Greene were arrested and faced charges of battery and disorderly conduct.
Today the charges were dropped against Dunbar per Jim Thomas of the the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Dunbar claimed to have been defending himself during his altercation with Donte Greene.
Dunbar does not have the best track record. JLD was suspended last year for four games after violating the NFL’s policy against performance-enhancing substances. With these charges being dropped, Jo-Lonn Dunbar and the Rams organization look to put these events behind them and move on. Dunbar was a vital piece in the Rams’ defense last year and looks to contribute at a high level once again.
Even though the Rams’ defense has the potential to be a power house this year, losing Dunbar would have been a major loss. Head coach Jeff Fisher has a handful of players on his team that have been known to be trouble makers (Kenny Britt, for example). If the Rams’ organization along with its core group of veteran players can keep each other in check, this defensive group under Greg Williams will be a force to be reckoned with.
