Bengals Tight End Tyler Eifert Undergoes Back Surgery, Out For Season

The Cincinnati Bengals will be without their starting tight end for the rest of the season. Tyler Eifert has elected to undergo his third back surgery of his career and will miss four to six months with this latest injury.
Eifert is scheduled to become a free agent next year so the Bengals decision on him this offseason will be very interesting. When healthy, Eifert is a very reliable tight end. His best season came in 2015 when he played in 13 games and had 615 yard receiving and 13 touchdowns.
Eifert missed eight games last season and will only appear in just two games this season. He’ll finish this season with just 46 yards receiving after having 395 yards receiving last year with five touchdowns.
Tyler Kroft will continue to start in place of Eifert for the rest of this season and he already has two touchdowns.
