The Arizona Cardinals lost to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night but they also got some bad news earlier today regarding Drew Stanton. Stanton, who’s the backup to starting quarterback Carson Palmer, sprained his knee during the game and could miss a game or two as the injury heals.
This news isn’t good for the Cardinals as they may be forced to go to Blaine Gabbert, who’s the third string quarterback for the team. They’re also without David Johnson for the rest of the season, who’s one of the best running backs in all of football.
The game Stanton could miss would be against the Houston Texans. In relief for Palmer, Stanton has thrown for 474 yards with three touchdown passes and one interception.
For Gabbert, he’s 9-41 career as an NFL starter as he’s played with the 49ers and the Jaguars over his career.
