Philadelphia Eagles Trade Torrey Smith

Total Pro Sports

The Super Bowl winning Philadelphia Eagles have traded wide receiver Torrey Smith to the Carolina Panthers for cornerback Daryl Worley per Adam Schefter.

Smith signed a one-year deal with the Eagles last offseason, but struggled to make his impact in the Eagles offensive system with only 430 total yards during the regular season.  The Eagles, who recently have traded for Michael Bennett, need to clear cap space as Smith is scheduled to make $5 million in 2018-19.

Daryl Worley, who was born in Philadelphia, struggled last year only recording a pair of interceptions in the Panthers secondary.  Worley is currently on his rookie contract which helps clear cap space for Philadelphia.
