The Washington Redskins second round draft pick, Derrius Guice, is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL is Thursday night’s preseason game against the New England Patriots.
After a long run towards the tail end of the first quarter, Guice stayed on the ground while medics tended to him. He walked off under his own power, but was in visible pain on the sidelines after.
Before getting an MRI Friday morning, many speculated that he had just sprained his MCL. When news broke of his torn ACL, Guice was quick to assure he would be fine.

Guice was expected to be a huge factor in the Redskins offense that has struggled in recent seasons, specifically in the run game where they haven’t had consistency.
The injury leaves the Redskins with receiving back Chris Thompson, Samaje Perine, Rob Kelley, Byron Marshall, and Kapri Bibbs to fight for roster spots.
