Antonio Brown’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has come out in defense of his client saying that he does not want a move away from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rumors started swirling when Brown missed practice on Monday after he responded to a critical tweet with, “Trade me let’s find out” from a former Steeler’s staff member who claimed that Brown would not be as good without Ben Roethlisberger.
Rosenhaus said that he missed practice on Monday for personal reasons.
“The tweet yesterday was not in reference to anything other than Antonio responding to a person he knows,” Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “It was not directed toward a trade, or wanting to be trading. It was a personal response to a former Steelers employee who insulted him. Any idea he was asking for a trade is not accurate. Secondly, yesterday he had a personal matter.”
This is the second time in the last two weeks that Brown has had a social media flare up on twitter. Last Wednesday, he publicly apologized to senior ESPN writer Jesse Washington about a profile titled ‘Antonio Brown is an Instagram All-Pro’ for threatening him through a tweet. Brown remains one of the elite wide receivers leading the league with 33 targets with 18 receptions resulting in 160 yards and 1 touchdown this season.
