After 29 days of World Cup action in Russia, the final match is set. France will battle Croatia this Sunday in the final game of the tournament. The third place match will be this Saturday between Belgium and England.

The French won yesterday by scoring the only goal in the match, which came off a Sam Umtiti header off of a corner kick in the fifty-first minute of the match. Les Bleus played a solid match from kickoff and dominated Belgium in the shots category nineteen to nine. All the while nineteen-year-old sensation Kylian Mbappé showed off his speed and skill as a passer with a beautiful setup for teammate Oliver Giroud.

Meanwhile, the England and Croatia match proved to be much more dramatic. England struck early off a Kierian Trippier free kick goal in the fifth minute of the match. However, Croatia eventually answered in the sixty-eighth minute off a cross from Sime Vrsaljko which found the left foot of Ivan Perisic to tie the game one-to-one. Croatia then came to life and nearly scored off a Perisic strike that hit the far post just four minutes later. Neither side scored for the rest of regulation, and the match was sent to extra time.

After an amazing save by English keeper Jordan Pickford in the first half of extra time, Mario Mandzukic found the back of the net in the one-hundred-ninth minute to give Croatia the go ahead and eventual game-winning goal.

With the victory, Croatia becomes the second smallest country (in terms of population) in history to ever reach the World Cup final.
