As if the Western Conference could not get crazy enough. The legitimacy of a move to Portland for Anthony is unsure, but if the Blazers ramp up their pursuit of the All-Star, the West could get even more interesting.

Simmons is a modern day success story in the NBA, and I would love to see him stay with San Antonio, where he seems to have found a prominent role in their rotation. If he can build off of his success from last season though, he certainly has potential to be a serious factor on whatever team he’s a part of next season.

In what has been a long run of mediocrity in the Knicks front office, I certainly do believe Perry’s track record shows that he can turn this Knicks franchise around given the proper resources are provided to him by owner James Dolan.

Gregg Popovich has always done an excellent job getting the best out of his veteran players. It would not come as a shock to me if Lauvergne found new life as a member of Popovich’s system in San Antonio.

This is an example of a modern-day NBA trade that looks to benefit both teams involved. For the Raptors, who are looking to gain ground in the wide open Eastern Conference, the addition of CJ Miles will immediately help with the team’s long range threat. For the Pacers, who are beginning the rebuilding stage, Cory Joseph helps the team get younger, and will look to be a valuable asset for years to come if he continues to take strides like he has shown over the first six years of his career. Overall, this trade makes sense for everyone involved.

For the Thunder, this is an excellent trade, and another work of magic by GM Sam Presti. The most important angle of this deal is not acquiring George’s talents or losing Oladipo and Sabonis, but it is the fact that the Thunder organization is showing Westbrook that they are willing to put pieces around the MVP in order to become a serious contender. This deal, even if George leaves OKC next summer, may have secured a new Westbrook extension.

As someone who is a firm believer in the legend of Devin Booker, I would be really interested to see this pairing. The Suns seem like a few quality players away from working their way into the Western Conference playoff picture. I’m not sure if their situation is what Blake Griffin will be looking for, and for teams, there are still many questions surrounding his durability. However, the Suns do not get many big free agent meetings like this one so I like the idea of them going all in on Griffin.

After his most successful season to date, it is no surprise that Durant intends to help the Warriors remain atop the NBA. This move also correlates with his previous statements about remaining in the Bay Area for years to come. If the Warriors can re-sign Iguodala due to KD’s pay cut, which I expect them to, there will be no sign of anyone slowing down Golden State next season, in my opinion.

It has been widely-speculated that Torres was expected to be called up to the majors before the trade deadline approached. Being one of the top prospects in all of baseball, it will be interesting to watch Torres’ road to recovery, and how this will affect his timetable toward becoming a Yankees starter.

Without the services of Steve Smith and Dennis Pitta any longer, I think the signing of Jeremy Maclin was a good move for the team. With Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman being the only other wideouts from last season to catch over 30 passes, Maclin is definitely an improvement for Joe Flacco and the rest of the Ravens crew.
