That’s a fair call, and I had to think about it. But seeing as I couldn’t find and haven’t heard anyone out there (ESPN, Tennis.com.etc) call Federer for the win, I figured it was bold enough. For him to beat Djokovic and Murray to win his first Slam in four years would be quite a feat I think.
But if it’s not bold enough for ya, how about this - I think Alexander Zverev takes out at least one big name, and makes the quarter-finals.

Novak Djokovic simply played too solidly for Roger Federer in this match. While the statistics were largely similar for the two finalists, Novak Djokovic held a significant advantage in two aspects - second serve points won (60% to 49% by Federer) and, most importantly, unforced errors (16 to 35 by Federer).
Federer’s serve was simply not as good today as it was against Andy Murray in the semifinals, and Djokovic’s incredible returning prevented Federer from dictating play on his serve. In the end it was the small differences (Federer failing to take advantage of a 4-2 lead in the first set, and winning only one of seven break points) that made the difference. Kudos to Novak Djokovic.
