Can’t get over that kick. He was a pretty stellar goalie before enrolling at Texas A&M;, so maybe he was using the wrong part of his foot?

This is a really good article! I think one additional factor that led people to dismiss Baylor is that they were upset by Yale in the NCAA Tournament. If the Bears had beaten the Bulldogs and then lost to Duke, they would have likely received more love. But losing to an Ivy League school in basketball (even though the Ivy is much improved) tends to lose teams the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks for the fix! I meant that he needed to rebound from his losses in London at Hamburg, and my words didn’t express my thoughts well. I appreciate you pointing that out.

The Djoker looks excellent out there, but Roger’s service game has been so utterly impressive that I see Fed taking Wimbledon. In a rematch of last year’s epic final, I think Roger will take home his eighth title. Novak surely is playing some great tennis as well, but he clearly had a much easier opponent today in Gasquet. I also think Novak looked very vulnerable against Anderson, though he’s bounced back with two impressive straight-set wins.

Muguruza has really been playing exciting tennis! I’m shocked to see her in the final, but she clearly deserves it. I just think Serena is playing dominant tennis right now and won’t fall to the 20th seed.

LeBron was the sole warrior for Cleveland (pun intended). He had an amazing series, but so did Iggy. Without James, Cleveland would have been swept. Without Iggy starting and excelling, Golden State would not have the series. You have to feel for LeBron, but giving him the MVP would have been awkward. (How do you accept that trophy while the other team is celebration?) It’s a shame that Cleveland played without Kyrie and Love, because I’m sure everyone wanted to see an NBA Finals matchup between teams at full strength.

Hey Lions27 - thanks for commenting. Bobby’s article was, unintentionally, republished - these predictions were made prior to week 15.
As a Lions fan, I understand your dismay at Bobby picking the Packers to beat the Lions. Yet, the Packers have indeed been undefeated at home (sure, they had some close calls including week two against the Jets), and the Lions have not exactly been inspiring on the road (3-3, and barely, considering the Falcons’ historic meltdown allowed them to win, not to mention the beatdown to them by the Pats).
So, going into this weekend’s games, I see why Bobby made his predictions. The Bills beat the Lions…at Ford Field. The Lions have a great D and the Packers have a great O. Will be a good game to watch.

I completely disagree with Preston’s analysis above. Being undefeated does not mean you are the best team. Marshall was undefeated until this past weekend…and they beat nobodies, hence why they were a fringe top 25 team. Florida State is obviously much better than Marshall, but they have neither played nearly the schedule that some of the other teams near the top have nor have they looked impressive in doing so. I do think FSU should be ranked ahead of TCU, though. They will be if they defeat Georgia Tech, so in the end it won’t matter
Strength of schedule matters. Ignoring that would be downright foolish. Also, head-to-head wins are not everything. Baylor got dominated by West Virginia (losing by two TDs despite WVU’s 3 turnovers, being outgained by 138 yards), whereas TCU squeaked by that same team. The Horned Frogs’ victory over a surprisingly good Minnesota what distinguishes the Big 12 leaders, not the result of their contest.

You hate to see a player go down with an injury, especially one as critical to a team’s success as Barrett. The Buckeyes are in serious trouble next week, as Wisconsin has won 7 straight games and Melvin Gordon is running out of his mind. Gordon has 964 rushing yards in the last four games alone! The Badger defense is also very stubborn, so I just don’t see how OSU will score against Wisconsin with the inexperienced Cardale Jones at quarterback.
As for Michigan, the fans are undoubtedly ecstatic to see Devin Gardner depart Ann Arbor. Gardner was downright awful this season, finishing with 10 touchdown passes against 15 interceptions. With Gardner and (presumably) Hoke gone next year, the Wolverines look to rebuild.

The relevant teams all stayed put, with the exception of Ole Miss. Florida State has been looking quite bad, but it will be difficult to justify kicking them out of the top four until they actually lose a game. The other teams at the top are simply jockeying for position.
Rivalry week is upon us, so don’t be surprised if a number of teams are upset this weekend. Some huge games include Alabama-Auburn, FSU-Florida, Mississippi State-Ole Miss, Arizona-Arizona State, and Minnesota-Wisconsin; with the exception of FSU-UF, all these matchups have conference title implications.
I’m looking forward to a Missouri loss to surging Arkansas, which will let Georgia sneak into the SEC Championship game. The Bulldogs can earn some big style points by dismantling a hot Georgia Tech squad, while Georgia Tech could use a confidence boost before taking on Florida State in the ACC Championship. That will also be a game to watch.
If UCLA takes out Stanford, the Bruins will earn the right to battle Oregon for the Pac-12 Championship. UCLA can not be overtaken by Arizona or Arizona State, as the Bruins destroyed both teams from the Copper State.
TCU will be rooting for Minnesota to knock off Wisconsin. The Golden Gophers would win the Big Ten West while the Horned Frogs would receive a resume boost thanks to their head-to-head win on September 13.
